Exchange Blackjack Odds & Strategy How To Play Exchange BlackjackAt the start of the game each player places their initial bets before any cards are dealt. The basics of regular blackjack are still the core rules of Exchange Blackjack. The object is to get as close to 21 without going over. All face cards are worth ten points and normal number cards are worth their regular value. Aces are either valued as 1 or 11. But here is perhaps the biggest difference in the game. Players lay their bets on which individual player they think will win the round. Bets can be placed to back or lay a player. After the first round of betting, the dealer deals out two cards to each player plus one card to themselves. Just like in blackjack, the players can hit or stand. However, in Exchange Blackjack, there is no splitting, doubling, or surrender allowed. A player can be dealt up to five cards as long as they don’t bust over 21. The highest hand for either a player or a dealer is a 5 card hand of 21 points or less, called a Five Card Charlie. This beats a blackjack, which is the second highest hand in the game. The third highest hand is a 21-point hand and the ranking goes down from there. All player wins have a payout of even money, even a blackjack or a five-card hand. The dealer in Exchange Blackjack will always stand on either a soft 17 or once they reach five cards in their hand. The dealer does not use a hole card. Game play progresses each round with players deciding whether to hit or stand. A player can either lay or back whether the dealer wins or ties with all four players, one or more hands hit a Five Card Charlie, all the cards are unique of both suit and value, and that only one hand has a value of 21 points. If any player busts, they lose even though the game may continue. If at any time during the game the dealer stands or reaches five cards, the game is over and all bets are resolved. If at any time all the other players have busted, one player has a 21-point hand and the dealer cannot win, the game ends and all bets are resolved. If all the players bust, the dealer will win before taking another card. Game play can continue for a total of six rounds as long as the dealer and at least one player have not resolved their hands. The game’s results are determined by which players’ hands have beaten the dealer and which selections proved to be correct. There can be multiple winning hands and winning selections in each game. If the dealer’s hand ties with a player’s hand, then the Blackjack Dead Heat Rule applies. This is a rule where when there is a draw or tie between the dealer and a player, the odds for both backers and layers are divided by 2. With this rule, it is possible for a player to win less than their original wager. Free Exchange Blackjack Rules and StrategyExchange Blackjack is an intriguing variation of the original game. Anyone who is good at understanding poker and reading other players should have little trouble with this game as it relies a lot on intuition and figuring out how the other players will react depending on the cards. With the rules set-up, it is even an easy game to understand for people not familiar with regular blackjack. See also: |
