Cryptologic Blackjack

Free Blackjack at Rushmore CasinoCryptologic is a company based in Toronto, Canada that provides downloadable casino games and software. The company was founded in 1995 and launched their first casino in 1996. Cryptologic offers a range of online games, including several different blackjack variations that include multi-player games, a progressive blackjack game, and private blackjack rooms.

A nice feature of their games is that the betting limit per hand in most of Cryptologic’s blackjack casinos is higher than in most other casinos. Depending on the specific casino, a player can earn monthly deposit bonuses, random prizes, and even cash back incentives. After signing up for an account, a player will be sent a PIN by postal mail which they will need for withdrawals and if they ever need to contact customer support.

Cryptologic’s blackjack is based on the games found in Atlantic City and for the most part uses standard blackjack rules. Cryptologic’s games use either one deck or eight decks of 52 cards each. In the multi-player games, the dealer uses a set of cards made up of eight decks that is shuffled after each round.

All number cards have their normal value and face cards are worth 10. Aces are soft so are worth either 1 or 11. Just like in regular blackjack, the object of the game is to get as close to 21 without going bust while at the same time having a higher value hand than the dealer. A player may double on any of their first two initial cards. They may also double after splitting but a player may only split once.

If a player splits an ace, they may receive only one card for each ace. Surrender is not allowed in Cryptologic’s standard blackjack game. The dealer will stand on a soft 17. They are also allowed to check their hole card for a blackjack.

If a player follows a perfect basic strategy, the house edge for multi-deck blackjack is 0.49%, which is 0.05% higher than in Atlantic City, probably because resplitting is allowed there. Insurance is not recommended on this version of blackjack.

Cryptologic Single Deck Blackjack

Cryptologic also offers a single deck version of blackjack. The basic rules are all the same as in the multi-deck version except the dealer hits on a soft 17. The house edge for single deck games is around 0.07%.

Other Cryptologic Blackjack Games

Cryptologic has developed several other forms of blackjack.

Progressive Blackjack

Their progressive blackjack variation follows the same basic rules as the multi-deck version except, of course, for the progressive blackjack bet. A side bet of $1 is required for a player to be eligible for the progressive jackpot. In multi-hand blackjack, the player plays 1, 3, or 5 hands against 3, 5, 10, or 50 of the dealer’s hands. The dealer’s face up card is the same for each hand no matter how many they playing. In multi-hand, the dealer does not peek at their hole card for blackjack. However, if the dealer gets a blackjack and the player never busted on any hand, then only the original wager will be returned to the player.

Multihand Blackjack

Multi-hand blackjack is an interesting game because if the player gets one good hand, they have the potential for beating up to fifty of the dealer’s hands for some serious wins.

Cryptologic also offers up some other variations which include multi-player pontoon, progressive multi-hand blackjack, multi-split blackjack, and Super Fun 21 blackjack. As one of the industry’s leaders in gaming software, Cryptologic has some really great, realistic graphics and sound effects. Anyone looking for an entertaining game of blackjack, no matter which version, should check out Cryptologic’s games.
