Chartwell Technology Blackjack
Chartwell Technology’s version of blackjack follows most of the standard rules. Their game uses 8 decks of 52 cards in each deck. All cards retain their same value as in other regular blackjack games. Face cards are worth 10 and aces are soft with either a value of 1 or 11. Chartwell’s rules state that a dealer must draw until they reach 16 and they must always stand on a soft 17. A player may double down on any of their first two cards. They may also double down after a split. But unlike other forms of blackjack, Chartwell Technology’s version does not allow resplitting. If a player gets blackjack, the payout is 3 to 2. The dealer is allowed to peek at their hole card. Insurance is offered and if the dealer has a blackjack, the insurance pays 2 to 1. If the dealer’s up card is an ace, they will offer the player even money if the player has a blackjack. If the player believes that the dealer has a blackjack, they can take the even money. The player is automatically paid 1 to 1. Chartwell Technology European BlackjackChartwell Technology also has a European version of blackjack. Like the company’s standard blackjack, this game uses eight decks. In this version, the dealer also draws to a 16 and stands on a soft 17. A player may double down on either a 9, 10, or 11. The player may also double down after a split. But there is no splitting on 4, 5, or 10 value cards. Resplits are not allowed in this version, either. Early surrender will forfeit half of a player’s bet on a non-dealer ace. If a player gets a blackjack, the payout is 3 to 2. If a player takes insurance and the dealer has a blackjack, the payout is 2 to 1. In this version of blackjack, the dealer is not allowed to peek at the hole card. If the dealer has a blackjack, then the player loses all of their wager, not just half. More Chartwell Technology Blackjack GamesLucky 7 BlackjackChartwell Technology has a few other variations of blackjack. In their Lucky 7 Blackjack game, the game is just like regular blackjack except there is an optional side bet where the player can win if the first one, two, or three cards dealt to a single hand contain a seven. Multihand BlackjackThe company also has a multi-hand blackjack game where the player can have up to five separate hands at a time. The game is played with two decks of 52 cards each that are reshuffled before each round.
